Music is a very vital part of the ministry of Bay Springs Baptist Church.  Worship on the Lord’s Day should be the crowning joy of our week.  It’s our opportunity to engage our minds toward God, to enjoy His people, to bask in His presence, and to corporately drink from His Word.  We give God our talents and resources to encourage and to be encouraged and to offer praise.  We do this through our worship services where we plan exciting music that speaks to all age groups. Our praises consist of the age- old hymns as well as contemporary choruses and anthems.  The music ministry consists of the Adult Choir, the Children’s’ Choir, and other singing groups. There is a singing group for all ages. Come join us as we praise the Lord.

My wife Melissa and I came to Bay Springs Baptist Church in May of 2011.  Currently, I am a full-time seminary student at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary extension campus in Birmingham, pursuing a Master’s of Divinity degree.  My passion is to make the Word of God come to life in everyday circumstances and model the love of Christ in my own relationships.  I love to teach the gospel of Christ.

I answered God’s call to minister to the church two years ago when I began seminary and strongly believe that there is great power in the gospel.  I believe that our responsibility is to present the gospel and the Holy Spirit does the work of turning hearts of stone into hearts of flesh.  I also realize the magnitude of my decision to teach in the church as the Bible calls teachers to a higher standard.  I rely on Christ alone to give me the strength and clarity to preach His gospel and to live it out.  Because of the way my own life has played out, I want to see students make good decisions at a young age and have a strong Biblical foundation to rely on both when life is good, and when times are hard.  Thus, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of Bay Springs Baptist Church as a youth pastor and hope to show the students there the treasure that is the love of Jesus.

Melissa and I live in Helena, AL with our dog, Buddy.  Our life’s goal is to be a part of spreading the gospel to unreached people groups across the globe and within the context of the local church.  We are very blessed to call Bay Springs Baptist Church home for now.

At Bay Springs we believe that it is important for children to learn about God and His plan for their life while they are young.  Our Sunday school provides a class for every age group, birth through 6th grade.  During worship on Sunday morning our 3 yr. olds through kindergarten have their own time of worship called Wee Worship. On Sunday nights we have children’s choir and a pre-school class. The C.I.A’s, which focuses on missions, meets on Wednesday night. We have seasonal parties, trips to recreational places and our school age children have the opportunity to attend summer camps. A nursery is provided for all services.   Parents bring your children and join us at Bay Springs.  We have something for everyone!

At Bay Springs, Sunday school is the foundation for Spiritual growth.  This growth comes by receiving and sharing God’s word with others.  The way to share His love is through scripture.  The scripture guides us. Sunday school is a way to help learn the scripture and equip you to do God’s work by going out and sharing the Gospel. At Bay Springs we offer classes from Nursery to Senior Adult classes. The teachers use biblically based material along with the Holy Bible.  Sunday school is not only a time for Bible study but also a time for fellowship.  So please come join us as we study God’s word.
